Call to Conference!
Fifth District Summer Workshop at the Florence Nature Center on Tuesday July 21
KFWC President-Elect Mary Alice Oldfield and GFWC Membership Committee Chair Patrice Booze will be on hand to introduce new and prospective members to the work of Federated Women's Clubs and inspire current members to renew their commitment to our work!  Contact Governor Karen Moreland for more information or to register.

BCMWC Tapped for Literacy Award

The Bettie Carter Morgan Women's Club was awarded third place in the Literacy category during the KFWC Annual Convention for our work with the One to One Literacy Program this club year.  Member and Fifth District Governor Karen Morland represented the club at the Convention.

 
     
 

New officers for 2009-10

The BCMWC welcomes Jane Pfarner as our new Recording Secretary and Bev Pilgram as our new Treasurer. 
The officers and committee chairs will begin planning for our next club year over the summer.  Please contact President Sue Banks with ideas for projects or programs.

BCMWC Meets Kentucky Author George Ella Lyon at November Club Meeting

     

On Tuesday November 18, the Club met Kentucky Author George Ella Lyon who talked about her work and the book "With a Hammer for My Heart" -- the Northern Kentucky One Book/One Community title for 2008.  The Bettie Carter Morgan Woman's Club is proud to be a partner organization for the program.  First Vice President Fay Smith presented the author with a Kentucky Hospitality II cookbook from the Club -- Ms. Lyon loved it!

 
     
 

Fall Conference a Great Success

The Club had a great turnout at the Fifth District Fall Conference held in Williamstown, KY on Saturday, November 1.  BCMWC Member and Fifth District Governor Karen Moreland presided over a stimulating day of competition and discussion, hosted by the Williamstown Women's Club.  Several club members garnered prizes in the District Art Contest and our Club project, the One to One Literacy program was a featured presentation with Polly Page presenting.
